With the UFC touching down for the second time in Yas Island, Abu Dhabi and the sun rising on new fight-card after fight-card, we are now entering the homestretch of this second-coming. On tap for this weekend’s fight card, which is being labeled as UFC Fight Island 5, is a main event between two hungry bantamweight contenders. On an Island that features everything and anything one possibly needs, Marlon Moraes (23-6-1), will look to stay true to his name and bring a touch of “magic”. While Cory Sandhagen (12-2) will look to bounce back after a disappointing performance against Aljamain Sterling at UFC 250.
A Sandhagen loss is rare to come by and can be something seen as out-of-the-norm. Sandhagen started the year with promise but he took an early road-block and massive hit, much like the country in which he represents and those around the world (thanks covid-19), but with time healing all and an opportunity to get back on the right track, an opportunity for him to end this year on championship-track with a promising future ahead of him is on the line.

As for Moraes, the UFC hasn’t been kind to him. In a sport that is as unforgiving as the matchmakers are, Marlon Moraes was overlooked for a title-shot despite beating the man (according to the judges) who was rewarded with the most recent title-shot. Here’s hoping that “Magic” Moraes has saved his best “trick” for his opponent and if all goes well, he’ll be hoping that the next thing to be pulled out of his hat is a shot at the belt.
